Educational resource for palliative care workers
Palliative Care Network is designed to provide an internet platform for palliative care professionals worldwide to teach, interact, and exchange ideas with fellow colleagues for the ultimate benefit of patients. Palliative Care Network volunteers facilitate the education of colleagues throughout the world where palliative care education is deficient through the use of widely available internet technology.
The network is modelled on a successful project (discussed in the ‘pilot project’ section of the site) where a team in India was enabled to start and run a programme with the help of a physician based in Los Angeles, USA, who provided educational sessions over the internet.
Palliative care professionals are encouraged to submit contact information through www.palliativecarenetwork.com. It is here that they can be matched with colleagues who request assistance. The invitation to submit information on the website is open to all palliative care disciplines.
