Zodwa has worked in the health sector for 27 years in various disciples, including general nursing, midwifery, community health, and palliative care. She has gained experience in various institutions – private, governmental and community-based – and functioned in environments with limited resources, illiteracy, abject poverty and general deprivation.
In later practice Zodwa developed a passion for care of the frail and the terminally ill. She has participated in a number of national and international conferences, flying the hospice flag in the specific area of palliative care and, latterly, the prescription of morphine by nurses. She presently works at the Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa as their advocacy coordinator.
